Hello! I’m Grant—I’m a video producer and motion graphics designer working in Indiana.
I have over eight years of experience working as a video editor and producer. I’ve worked as a motion graphics designer for three years and counting. There’s not much I haven’t done in the marketing and communications space—from copywriting to web development, from fundraising to field recording—I’ve covered the bases.
Please check out my work experience below and my examples in my portfolio. If you have any questions for me or requests for additional samples, please feel free to reach out.
Liberty Federal Credit Union
Interactive Media Specialist
2022 - Present
Interactive Media Specialist is a great catch-all for the difficult-to-categorize roles I’m normally filling at the credit union. I work most frequently as a video editor, motion graphics designer, and producer, but as the demands of the department grow, so does my role as a builder of systems and management frameworks.
Our department’s footprint on every marketing campaign we launch is only increasing; that demand growth means more time spent on motion graphics packages and video production services for an ever-expanding suite of product offerings from every corner of the credit union. We integrate our output and timelines into the broader marketing workflow, approach departments with new opportunities when there’s potential to be fulfilled, and organize production schedules to leverage every available asset at our team’s disposal.
I’ve set up days-long shoot schedules with travel itineraries, incidentals, and contingencies; I’ve restructured templates and standard operating procedures to allow for maximum scalability and usability, even by those with little working knowledge of the programs we use on a day-to-day basis.
Buffalo Trace Council, Boy Scouts of America
District Executive
2020 - 2022
I’m an Eagle Scout. I can’t say it prepared me for the job.
Each hat I had to wear working as the Lincoln Heritage District’s executive was probably too big for one person. A District Executive has an inarguably exciting job; there’s so much travel, so many new people to meet, and no shortage of opportunity to be seized, The job is really whatever you can make it.
I worked with many amazing volunteers at my local council. It’s been hard to claim any credit for the successes the district had while I worked for the council. At best, I was a conduit for their access to useful program assets—at worst I was an empty vending machine. Thankfully, the dedicated parents and Scouters, true to the promise of the organization’s credo, remained thrifty and resourceful. My work for them and with them taught me just how much can be done with just how little.
I served as medical resource officer, safety officer, compliance trainer, and program builder. I organized mass mailers, designed flyers for thousands upon thousands of families to see, and coordinated social media campaigns to reinvigorate wounded membership numbers. I piloted new girl’s troops in our district, an achievement I remain proud of even years later. I took hundreds of phone calls from volunteers into the wee hours of the evening.
Embrace Marketing and Communications
Head Writer and Account Executive
2018 – 2020
As head writer for the Embrace Marketing and Communications team, I was responsible for the agency’s creative copy regardless of format. Beginning with a summer-long social media campaign, I graduated into writing technical copy across industries, filling websites, preparing company newsletters, scripting and storyboarding public service announcements, and developing brand identities from scratch alongside our creative team and marketing strategist.
I had the opportunity to develop more personal relationships with several of Embrace’s clients by serving as their account executive; I learned to navigate high-level technical jargon in several industries, from smelting and energy production to pest control.
This isn’t an exhaustive list of my work. I currently prepare mass mail/email pieces, newsletters, fundraising campaigns, event advertisements, recruitment efforts, program guides and tutorials, public relations, and banquet/event scripts. I work with a local non-profit to provide these multimedia services - while also supporting programs on the ground in five Southern Indiana counties.
